In the forgotten kingdom of Leda, the smaller species have awakened. Cats, Pandas, Sharks, Scorpions, and many others have developed their own civilizations, languages, and ambitions. Connected by a mysterious energy grid that pulses to the rhythm of the world, these clans build, evolve, and clash to impose their vision of the future. In this precariously balanced universe, war isn't everything: cunning, adaptability, and a deep connection with nature are the keys to triumph. Who will etch their name among the legends of Leda?
Innovative and asymmetrical mechanics
LEDA is an asymmetrical card game for two players, where each player leads an animal clan seeking to achieve their own specific objective or to assert their dominance by force. Each turn, activate areas of your landscape (a 4x4 grid of cards), play clan cards, and manage your primary resource: food. Optimize your actions to achieve your victory condition before your opponent. Each game offers a fresh experience thanks to the diversity of clans and strategies.
The base game contains 4 clans (Sharks, Scorpions, Pandas, and Cats), but 4 expansions are also planned, the first being the Snake clan.
Sharks are direct and aggressive. They like to move in packs to enhance their abilities and favor an offensive strategy to defeat their opponents by force of arms.
Scorpions are builders: they must open 4 portals in each corner of their territory to win. To do this, they will try to slow down their opponents' game to give themselves time to achieve their goals. They focus on deserts to gain more and more resources.
The Pandas must reunite their King and Queen to win the game. They rely on their Awakening ability to gradually increase their power. Versatile, they can adapt to any situation.
The Cats want to craft 3 Rings, which means manipulating their draw pile to get their key cards in hand. They are the only ones with rotating cards, whose effects vary in power depending on which side is active.
How to play LEDA?
During setup, lay out your grid of 16 basic tiles, choose your clan, and prepare your deck.
Each round, players will go through 3 phases of play.
Activation: The active player reveals an Action tile and chooses the area that will be activated for both players (row, column, or specific zone): you then trigger the effects of the cards in that area (resource production, card drawing, tile upgrades, etc.).
Military Conflict: Resolve the outcome of the military conflict. Organization: Play one of your cards in hand in exchange for the necessary resources, or swap the positions of two of your cards/tiles on your grid.
Manage your resources and cards wisely to achieve victory specific to your clan or claim military supremacy before your opponent!
